Central government holiday list 2024
According to the OM, “The Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions will announce any changes in the dates of holidays for Eid ul Fitr, Eid ul Adha, Muharram, and Eid-e-Milad, if necessary, based upon the sighting of the Moon, after ascertaining the position from the Govt, of NCT of Delhi (DCP, Special Branch, Delhi Police)” for offices located in Delhi or New Delhi.
Diwali, also known as Deepavali, is observed on Sunday, November 12, 2024 (Kartika 21). Celebrate the celebration on “Naraka Chaturdasi Day,” which falls on a specified day in several states. Since that day alone is designated as a mandatory holiday for Diwali for State Government offices in that State, there is no issue with a holiday for Deepavali being observed on “Naraka Chaturdasi Day (instead of Deepavali Day) in the Central Government Offices in that State.
